Post Construction Cleaning in Minneapolis

Drywall dust is fine enough to settle into every horizontal surface, work into vents and light fixtures, and reappear on surfaces you cleaned yesterday. Add adhesive residue, paint overspray, joint compound, sawdust, and the manufacturer stickers and protective film on every fixture and pane of glass.

Ordinary cleaning methods do not resolve that, and some make it worse. Wiping fine dust with a damp cloth smears it into a film on new glass. The wrong solvent on a new finish causes damage that is expensive on a building nobody has occupied yet. Cleaning low before high means doing the floors twice.

So the work happens in phases: a rough clean to clear debris so remaining trades can work, a top-down dust removal and final detail to bring the space to occupancy standard, and a touch-up immediately before walkthrough because dust keeps settling after the main clean.

The hardest part of post construction cleaning is rarely the cleaning. It is that the schedule moves. Trades run late, inspections get rescheduled, and the cleaning window compresses because it sits at the end of the sequence. A cleaner who can only work a fixed slot becomes the reason a handover slips.

We schedule this work expecting the date to change: confirming the window close to the date, staying reachable as it moves, and bringing appropriate crew size when the window is short. For phased projects we clean by area so finished sections can be handed over while work continues elsewhere.

It also means being honest about sequence. If the trades are not finished, a final clean is wasted, because the next work order puts the dust straight back. We will tell you when a rough clean now and a final clean later is the right split rather than taking the booking twice.
